A Leaderless Revolution!?!

We are beyond sick and tired of the government of the I.R.I. (Islamic Republic of Iran.) They represent not the majority of Iranians but only a fraction. Islamic Republic through religious dogma and some lies has been controlling the narrative. It is a dictatorship. Just to make it clear, neither am I a supporter of the western white power narrative which has had major influence in the region. I’m supporting the dismantling of I.R. and replacing it with a secular and democratic government in Iran.

On one hand Islamic Republic has interpreted the religious literature to their own liking and benefit and on the other hand they have lied and allowed a certain groups of police and paid tugs to rape and murder women in the name of righteousness and Allah. The leaders of this regime have lied so much that it’s possible they don’t even know when they are lying and when they are telling the truth anymore.

A recent video clip taken in Iran shocked me to my core in such a way that I can’t simply sit and let the pundits do the talking in reference to the horrors of the I.R. done in the name of religion. In that video, several tall men with riot gear and batons in their hands ganged up on a young woman who told them to leave her alone and that she is pregnant (based on the caption of the video.) It was hard to see her face since the person using the phone to record seemed to be trying to hold the phone down as if he’s just holding it and not filming. It looked like they took her away in what appeared to be a military vehicle. Just two of the scenes made me see the depth of the evilness of this regime. One was when these tall men ganged up on him and stood above her and the other as they were dragging her to the vehicle. I don’t want to write what went through my mind and how powerless I felt just watching this video. I can’t imagine how powerless the men on the street felt who had no weapons in their hands and were all shorter than these well built men with weapons on them and batons in their hands.

Then there was another video someone tweeted with this note, “Meet the thugs of the Islamic Republic of Iran! This sickening video shows the level of violence used against the youth of Iran whose only crime is to want a better future. Where is this young man now? Is he yet another statistic?”

I didn’t have the stomach to open this video and watch it. I.R. can no longer be in power. It’s all too unimaginable for such an evil force to exist under this creation.

I.R’s judiciary system is a sham. Their Parliament is advertised as representative of the people and elected by the people but those elections and the way the candidates are selected and/or approved is a sham as well. Even if some of these parliamentarians truly become with the people they’re threatened by a military force protecting the religious figures on top. A military force who call themselves revolutionary guard of the Islamic Republic.

I.R’s ideology has not worked for the past 43 years. It’s not working for Iran, not for Palestine, not for Lebanon, not for Syria, not for Yemen and has not worked for anywhere else they have tried to control or manipulate. Islamic Republic, you need to go and go away ASAP. People in small towns to big cities all over Iran are protesting on the streets and risking their lives because they don’t want Islamic Republic anymore.

This month long nation wide protest is turning into a revolution. It’s definitely a feminist movement that started these protests and it’s women’s revolution. Perhaps it needs a leader to galvanize the effort to bring this government down and replace it with a better one.

A transitional government with a leader, in my opinion, is also needed to manage the country while Iran goes through the transition period to rewrite it’s constitution for a secular democratic government. I’m sure there are plenty of people who can lead this government. One such person I can think of is Shally Zomorodi @shallyzomorodi. with her husband she is raising four kids and has a demanding job and manages to still dance and make cooking videos. I’m sure there are many other women who can do the job but it’s just that YouTube showed me her videos recently. We need someone to facilitate the transitional government till an election.

My point is, people are doing their job protesting and voicing their need for a better government. And people who are passionate about wanting a better Iran and have some managerial experience, have followers and are liked by the people ought to step up and say I ready and willing to do this, to manage the transitional government for 85+ million Iranians.

I see this transitional government needs to be in place for around a year but no more than two years, until the new constitution has been written and voted on by the people. The content of the new constitution needs to be discussed openly with public input through the internet, social media, radio, television, in schools, universities, etc. Not behind closed doors as it was 43 years ago. Not everyone will be happy with the final draft but my hope is that a great majority of people will be happy enough and see it as satisfactory.

Getting well educated on the value of the constitution but also realizing the importance of being lawful citizens and honor this agreement, the constitution, and respected by the people and an honest and well meaning judiciary system will evaluated cases without bias and honorable law enforcement will also play an honest part.

No leader of this movement, this revolution of 2022 in Iran ought to decide to run for an office in the general election after the new constitution has been written and approved by the people. The leader of the transitional government ought to be a temporary position and this leader will leave all politics in Iran.

I’ve heard some of the Iranian pundits among the diasporas say that for this movement in Iran people don’t need a leader and they can be their own leader. Fine! If you can do it that way I will be the first to congratulate you and say, “You were right and I was wrong!” But after watching the videos mentioned above something got triggered in me, as in enough is enough. I don’t have the stomach to hear about these atrocities any more. It’s difficult to see the loss of young life in such a brutal way.
